01. Money Talk
Cost & insurance.
How much do sessions cost?
Standard therapy sessions range from $85 to $185. Therapist rates vary based on experience and advanced training. Some of our therapists are starting as interns or working under supervision toward independent licensure. Others are supervisors with specialized training. KAP (ketamine-assisted psychotherapy) and coaching are priced separately due to different formats, length, and additional involvement. Reach out for current KAP and coaching pricing.
Do you take insurance?
No, we're out-of-network. A very common practice in our field, as many clinicians move away from credentialing with insurance, is to provide superbills (detailed receipts) which you can submit at your convenience to your insurance for possible reimbursement if your plan offers out-of-network coverage. Going out-of-network keeps your record private and lets us work without insurance dictating session length, frequency, or focus.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Credit card, debit card, HSA/FSA cards, and Zelle. Payment is collected at the time of session via your secure client portal.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for 24 hours notice for any cancellation or rescheduling. Late cancellations and no-shows are charged the full session fee. Life happens. If something comes up, just communicate and we'll figure it out.
02. The Logistics
Sessions & format.
Do you offer telehealth?
Yes. Therapy is available in-person at our Mesa office or via secure telehealth across Arizona. Coaching is available nationwide. Tantra coaching is available worldwide.
What states are you licensed in for therapy?
Arizona only. Coaching is not state-licensed and is available nationwide. Tantra coaching is available worldwide.
How long are sessions?
Standard therapy and coaching sessions are 50 minutes. Couples sessions are 50–120 minutes. KAP medicine sessions are 2–3 hours including preparation and grounding time.
How often will we meet?
Most clients begin weekly or every other week. Pacing is collaborative and we adjust as we go based on what's working for you.
Can I bring my partner? Or come to couples sessions alone?
Yes to both. Many couples do a few individual sessions in addition to couples work, and many people start individually even when relationship struggles are part of why they're coming in.
Ask the tough questions.
Explore the hard stuff.
03. First Steps
Getting started.
What's the first step?
Reach out via the contact form, email, or phone. I'll respond within one business day to set up a free 15-minute consultation. We'll talk about what's bringing you in, you'll get a feel for me, and if it feels like a fit, we book your first session.
What happens at the consultation?
It's a low-pressure phone or video call. I'll ask what's bringing you in and what you're hoping for. You'll get a feel for how I work and whether you want to keep going. There's no commitment.
What should I expect at my first session?
A real conversation. I'll ask what brought you in, what you're carrying, and what you hope might shift. I'll share a little about how I work. There's no script and no rush. You'll always leave with a few suggestions to practice/try outside of session for integration and healing.
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
If you're asking the question, that's already a sign. The free consultation exists for exactly this. You don't have to be in crisis. You just have to want something to be different.
04. Privacy & Practice
The other essentials.
Is what we talk about confidential?
Yes. With a small number of legally required exceptions (immediate danger to self or others, abuse of a minor or vulnerable adult, court order). We'll go over confidentiality in full at your first session.
Do you supervise therapists in training?
Yes. Alicia is trained and available to provide clinical supervision for new therapists working toward licensure. Reach out if you're a supervisee looking for a supervisor.
What if I'm in crisis right now?
If you are in immediate danger, please call 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), text HOME to 741741, or call 911. The Wild Within is not a crisis service. We provide ongoing therapy and coaching, not emergency response.
05. Specific Concerns
Can you help me with…
Can you help me with trauma?
Yes. Trauma work is at the core of what I do. PTSD, complex trauma, attachment wounds, childhood trauma, and the kind of stuff your body has been holding for years. I use EMDR, somatic and parts work, and ketamine-assisted therapy when it fits. We move at your pace. Safety first, always. No retelling the story until your nervous system is ready.
Can you help me and my partner?
Yes. Couples work is one of my favorites. The never-ending fight, the disconnection, intimacy that's faded, trust that broke. We work the patterns and the wounds underneath them. Most couples need a mix of joint sessions and some individual work, because what shows up between you usually started long before you met each other.
Can you help me with parenting?
Yes. Parenting Support at The Wild Within is for you, the parent. Not a class. Not advice on what your kid should be doing. It's the inner work: the guilt, the burnout, the moments you reacted from your own unhealed stuff. From a mom who has been in those moments too.
Can you help my pre-teen or teen?
Yes. We have therapists on the team who work with pre-teens and teens, including Alisha Anderson, LAC. Anxiety, identity, friendship struggles, the weight of growing up online. Sessions are confidential within the bounds of safety, and we'll talk with you about what gets shared and what stays in the room.
Can you help me with sex?
Yes. Sexual concerns, intimacy struggles, mismatched desire, sexual trauma, shame, or wanting a more embodied connection to your sexuality. This is held with respect, no judgment, and the kind of training that takes this work seriously. Tantra coaching is also available worldwide if therapy is not the right container.
Just ask.
The best way to find out if this is a fit is to reach out.
