You're not in crisis. You're not falling apart. You're functioning, even doing well by most measures. And you also know. Quietly, persistently. Your soul is calling you into more. More awareness. More clarity. More courage. More direction. More aliveness. A version of you that you can see but haven't been able to step into.

Coaching is for that. We can process and heal the past. We can explore your current reality, where you feel stuck, where things are not working. We can absolutely design and create a tomorrow that meets your needs and desires. Coaching is intentional. It's honest. It's motivational. We explore the hard questions, tap into your desires, connect to your potential, and create a plan for change.

A note. Coaching is not a substitute for therapy. If you're struggling with serious mental health challenges, you're looking for therapy. We won't try to make coaching do something it isn't designed to do.

Coaching vs. therapy. Which do you need?

Both are valuable. They serve different purposes. Here's how to tell.

Therapy & Coaching

Healing and growth. Looking backward and forward. Inward and outward.

  • What shaped you, how, and how does it continue to affect you
  • Where you're going and what you want to build
  • Goals, accountability, exploration, action

Therapy

  • Treats serious mental health conditions
  • Clinical, regulated, licensed
  • Possible insurance reimbursement with OON and a clinical diagnosis
  • EMDR
  • AZ residents only

Coaching

  • No diagnosis, no insurance coverage, HSA accepted
  • EMDR is not available to coaching clients
  • Live anywhere you want. Nationwide
  • Holistic practices available

What coaching actually looks like

The gap between coaching and therapy is closing. The specialized trainings once offered only to therapists are now available to coaches who seek to educate themselves and specialize.

People hear "life coaching" and sometimes picture vision boards and motivational quotes. That's not what this is. Coaching with me is specialized, advanced, practical, specific, and rooted in the real stuff you're navigating right now.

We might spend a session mapping out the career move you've been afraid to make, exploring why the fear exists, what else is there, and what the lesson might be. This exploration often gives people the awareness, insight, and courage to step outside of their comfort zone and move into spaces of change when they're ready, with courage and empowerment. You learn how to work with the fear and self-doubt instead of getting trapped in it. We might work on the conversation you've been avoiding with your partner, your boss, or your parent, and figure out what you actually want to say and why it feels so hard to say it. We might dig into why you keep setting goals and not following through, not because you're lazy but because something underneath is getting in the way. We might design a morning practice that actually sticks because it's built around your real life, not some idealized version of it. We might explore your patterns in dating relationships, why you're attracted to your "type," and how to date with consciousness.

Every session is different because every client is different, but the thread is the same. We figure out what you want, what gets in the way, and then I hold you to it. If the plan isn't working, we keep exploring and shifting and manifesting. I have lots of tools to teach you to help you move in the direction of your desires with greater ease. Not in a drill-sergeant way. In a "you told me this mattered to you, so let's make sure you're actually doing it" way. With warmth, and occasionally with the kind of honesty your friends won't give you.

Built for forward motion

Coaching looks ahead. It's about the life you're building, the decisions you're making, and the version of yourself you're stepping into. With someone grounded enough to hold you accountable and skilled enough to know when the real work is deeper than strategy.

Forward motion requires energy, empowerment, hope, belief, courage, and understanding how to work with fear and doubt. Because they will activate when we step into our power, into the new, and outside of our comfort zone. The "fear zone" is waiting for us right outside our comfort zone. I can show you how to navigate it effectively so you don't retreat back. We will reconnect you to your courage, hope, belief, and empowerment.

Who coaching is for.

  • You're at a career crossroads. You're being called or pulled in a different direction, and you're scared or confused.
  • You feel stuck. Maybe slightly depressed, and stalled. Not moving, not evolving.
  • You want more from your relationships, your work, your life, and you don't know where to start.
  • You set goals and don't follow through, and you're tired of that pattern.
  • You need someone who's not your friend, partner, or boss to help you figure out your stuff.
  • You're entering a big season. New business, new relationship, new identity, and want a guide.

You want accountability and encouragement, and an outside perspective from someone who has done their own work.

Coaching at The Wild Within.

Coaching is in person or virtual and available nationwide. (Therapy is licensed Arizona-only. Coaching is not.) Sessions are typically 50 minutes, weekly or every other week, with structure that fits the work we're doing. Some clients also want longer sessions and someone to practice meditation, mantra, or movement with.

I'll walk you through a full assessment to help us figure out what happened, what's happening, and what you really want to make happen. Then we figure out how to make it happen.

I bring everything I've learned as a clinical therapist into coaching. Somatic awareness and movement, parts work, attachment and relationships, nervous system regulation. The deep stuff, without the clinical container. The result is coaching that's grounded, real, and built on a much deeper understanding of what helps humans actually heal, grow, and change.

Contact me for current pricing. Packages and single sessions both available.

Getting started with coaching.

01

Free consultation

We talk about where you are, where you want to go, and whether coaching (vs therapy) is the right container for the work.

02

Design your engagement

We set goals, define the scope, and decide on a cadence. Some clients do an 8-12 week sprint. Others go longer.

03

Do the work

Virtual or in person sessions. Real accountability, real work, and a coach skilled enough to help you figure it out, finally.

I didn't need therapy. I needed someone to hold me accountable while I built the life I kept saying I wanted. Alicia doesn't let you hide behind your own excuses, and she does it with so much warmth that you actually want to show up.

FAQ

What's the difference between a coach and a therapist?

Therapists are licensed mental health professionals. We treat mental health conditions, can diagnose, and use therapeutic tools such as EMDR to process trauma. Coaches are not licensed mental health professionals, and the field is not regulated. You might find a very well trained coach, or someone with a weekend certification. I am a licensed mental health therapist, and my coaching program was intensive (about a year). I've also continued to receive specialized training, and I always will. Coaches are usually not trained to deal with significant mental health challenges such as bipolar, addiction, or active self-injurious behavior or suicidal ideation. Let's explore what fits best for you.

How much does coaching cost?

Wild as it is, many coaches now charge more than therapists. I don't charge more for either. My rate is the same for therapy and coaching.

How long does a coaching engagement last?

It depends on what you're working on. Some people come for a focused 8–12 week sprint around a specific goal. Others stay longer for ongoing growth. We design the engagement around your needs.

Do I need a coach or a therapist?

If you're struggling with clinically significant symptoms related to a mental health diagnosis, I suggest we partner together and do therapy. If you're feeling psychologically stable (no challenges to safety, no active mania, no active psychosis) then let's explore coaching. It's a beautiful thing that I'm trained in various modalities, and I offer the flexibility of both.

Can I do both with you?

I can offer either, but not both at the same time with the same person. If we start in therapy and you transition into coaching (or vice versa), we'll talk through it carefully. Sometimes the clearer path is to do one with me and the other with someone else.

Does insurance cover coaching?

No. Coaching is not a clinical service and insurance reimbursement is not available for coaching sessions. No diagnosis is offered through coaching. If you need a clinical diagnosis or insurance-reimbursable treatment, that falls under therapy.
